The morning is the foundation for the rest of our day. It is a time of preparation. As a result, everything that we do – from what we eat to what we think about should be for the purpose of having a peaceful, sound mind and a strong body. As a result, not only we will enjoy our day, but we will be ready for whatever challenges come our way. So consider doing the following, so that you can have a positive start to your day.
1. Remember That Your Morning Actually Starts the Night Before
Many of us wake up feeling more tired than when we went to sleep. Why? We are not getting enough of it! ensure that you get an adequate amount of sleep by going to bed at 9:00 p.m. or 10:00 p.m.
Getting a good sleep will allow you to have a productive and relaxed day, as opposed to a day of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.
2. Give Thanks
Before you even get out of bed, give silent thanks for another day on this earth. Then give thanks for those people who are most important to you. Give thanks for your food, clothing and shelter. Starting your morning in gratitude will give you the right attitude for the rest of your day.
Start your day with God. Through prayer, we are reminded that we are God’s children. That means that whatever we face during the day, we are not alone. However, prayer also reminds us that as God’s children, we are called to a higher standard of behaviour. Praying at the start of the day helps us focus on what is really important before we have to face the distractions of the world.
4. Breakfast is an Important Meal
Breakfast provides the body and brain with fuel after an overnight fast. Breakfast means breaking the fast you had when you slept. Nutritionist advise that breakfast should be eaten within two hours of waking. Do you skip breakfast because you have no time or don’t feel hungry? Well, don’t. After eating breakfast you will feel calmer, your mind will be sharper, and you will have more energy and confidence to face the new day.
5. Set Small Goals for the Day
It is good to jot down some small personal goals each day that you reasonably can complete. Setting daily goals is the way to ensure that part of your day is spent meeting your priorities – not just the priorities of others. You will be amazed at the progress you make toward your dreams when you consistently meet smaller and daily goals.
6. Decide to Be Positive – No Matter What
Make a decision in the morning that you are going to be positive, no matter what comes your way. Admittedly, this is hard. On occasion, we are surprised by bad news. Or we receive a frustrating email or phone call. Or someone is rude to us. No has a perfect day, and there are always going to be some challenges. The best thing that you can do is make a decision at the start of each day that you aren’t going to let anything ruffle your feathers. Believe it or not, that is a choice that we make not just in the morning, but every moment of every day.
